At Fairview Baptist Church, our faith is centred on Jesus Christ and the good news of God’s love for the world. We gather as a community to worship God, explore the Scriptures, grow in faith, and encourage one another in our relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe that we have been called together as a community of faith to bring glory to God through worship, by caring for and encouraging others in love, by introducing people to a relationship with Jesus, by committing to the will of God in our lives, and by serving those beyond ourselves.
Jesus Christ is at the heart of our faith, worship, and life together.
Through His life and teachings, we encounter God’s love, mercy, and grace. Through His death and resurrection, we find the promise of forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life.
We seek to follow Christ not only through worship and prayer, but also through the way we live. His example calls us to love our neighbours, care for those in need, practise forgiveness, and extend compassion to others.
Above all, we desire to know Jesus Christ more deeply and to grow in a personal relationship with Him.
The Bible is central to our life as a Christian community.
Through the Scriptures, we learn about God’s relationship with humanity, encounter the teachings of Jesus Christ, and discover the wisdom and guidance that have shaped the Christian faith throughout generations.
We approach Scripture with reverence, prayer, and a desire to hear what God is teaching us. We value thoughtful reflection, respectful conversation, and the opportunity to learn from one another as we seek to understand God’s Word.
Our hope is that engagement with Scripture will deepen our faith, strengthen our relationship with God, and guide us in living as followers of Christ.
Faith is not something we grasp completely or all at once
Throughout our lives, we continue to learn, question, reflect, and grow in our relationship with God. Our experiences, conversations, and encounters with Scripture can challenge us, encourage us, and deepen our understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.
At Fairview, we value the opportunity to explore questions of faith together. We recognize that members of a Christian community may hold different perspectives on particular theological matters while sharing a common desire to worship God and follow Christ.
We seek to approach these differences with humility, grace, and mutual respect, remembering that our unity is found in Jesus Christ rather than in complete agreement on every question.
Jesus taught that the greatest commandments are to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbours as ourselves.
We believe that Christian faith is expressed not only through what we say, but also through how we live and how we treat others.
At Fairview, we seek to reflect God’s love through kindness, generosity, hospitality, forgiveness, and service.
We believe that the Church is called to be a community where people care for one another, share in one another’s joys and burdens, and offer encouragement through life’s challenges.
Through worship, fellowship, prayer, and service, and especially through our monthly Outreach events, we strive to make the love of Jesus Christ visible in our congregation and in the wider community.
Fairview Baptist Church belongs to the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC), a fellowship of Baptist churches united in Christian faith, worship, and service.
Our Baptist heritage has long emphasized the importance of Scripture, personal faith, freedom of conscience, and the responsibility of believers to seek God’s guidance in their lives.
Within this tradition, we recognize the importance of both individual spiritual growth and the shared life of the Christian community.
We value the freedom to explore questions of faith thoughtfully and prayerfully, while remaining connected through our worship of God, our commitment to Jesus Christ, and our care for one another.
As part of the wider Baptist family, we are grateful for the opportunity to participate in a broader Christian community while continuing to nurture the distinctive life and ministry of Fairview Baptist Church.

At Fairview, we do not expect everyone to arrive with the same experiences, understanding, or certainty about matters of faith.
Some have followed Jesus Christ throughout their lives. Others are rediscovering their faith, beginning to explore Christianity, or seeking answers to questions about God.
