 ent from Okinawa\, Japan\, like a banjo\, considered the soul of Okinawan

 n interactive introduction to the music history of Okinawa\, Japan's south
 ernmost prefecture. The sanshin\, the three-stringed banjo at the heart of
  Okinawan music\, evolved during the Ryukyu Kingdom and remains central to
  both traditional and contemporary Okinawan music.\nLearn about the cultur
 al significance of the sanshin and different styles while enjoying live pe
 rformances of Okinawa and Amami music by Marina and fellow singer and sans
 hin player Miku. Participants will also have the opportunity to try playin
